Whatever happened to the days when e-mail was better than the regular mail. It seems that every time I go into my e-mail account I have tons of junk mail. It got so bad at one point in time that I had to stop it the only way I knew how, get a new e-mail address. But, it's starting again. I get tons of advertisements from places like Borders Books, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Famous Footwear, Hallmark, Bath & Body Works (I love their lotions though) etc. Besides these, there was a time when I got all kinds of e-mails for things like prescriptions (mostly Viagra), lonely housewives looking for some action(I assume these were meant for my husband, but he can't even turn the computer on), and other unrelated, unnecessary junk. This last category is sent to me by my so called friends. I absolutely hate the chain e-mails that say "send this out to 5 people or else..." I also hate it when I get a junk e-mail from one friend who sent it to another friend who has also forwarded it to me. How did I get on their list of "people who have nothing better to do than clean out their e-mail." It's getting as bad as the mail that comes from the post office. On a typical day my mailbox consists of flyers from Sears, JCP, Macy's, car dealers, grocery stores, enticements for my sons to join the Air Force, Army, Navy, or Marines, along with who knows what else. And yes, occasionally there is a bill in the midst of all that. Why can't I just get mail from the people I want to hear from?

Spam is what they call it and its aggravating for the fact I have to keep deleting those files, and there are times I may delete something important in my mail box. The chain letters to friends I really do not understand the existence of those letters it is just something for people to waste time posting to their friends emails. I hope with all this new technology being made there can be a source to put a stop to all the junk email.
