It's All Over!

Hey Everyone (you too Bjorn):

Well, in about 3 hours, we will have completed yet another requirement. The difference is that this was actually fun, interactive, and we got to know each other pretty well. I'm actually glad that my other class was cancelled and that I decided to take this one as a substitute. You've all been great, but do me a favor...don't ask too many questions when I give my presentation...I might be nervous! Enjoy the rest of your summer. Do something different and fun, you're only young once!

MEDIA GODS

Wow! I just finished putting together my ROUGH draft. Thank God I have a computer to type it and make corrections without erasing, Internet to look up information, and a thesaurus and spell checker right on my computer. Without all of those things, I'd probably be calling in sick tomorrow! A big thanks to the Media Gods, wherever they are!

INGENIOUS SH_T!

While I was watching the Celtics the other night, I thought I saw an advertisement on the backboard when the camera was looking down on it. I tried to find a picture of this on google, but it was a no go! So, instead I started looking around at different and ingenious advertisements and here are some that I found:
I love this one! It's an ad for dead end jobs. These machines depict workers inside getting your coffee, money, etc.

Here is a Duracell ad: Great idea! By painting in a 3 dimensional way, they ellude to the fact that Duracell batteries are running the escalator!

I like this ad for its originality. Here they have painted people riding a roller coaster on the risers of an escalator. As you probably figured out, it's an ad for an amusement park.

My last ad is an ad for coffee! I hope they paid him a lot of money to cut his hair like that!

By using the pictures as their source of media, these companies came up with memorable advertisements that will keep them in the minds of the consumers.

Do you agree?

My SICK SCION!

Unknown to me, I have a SICK SCION TC! I have this on good authority; Ting, Shawn, and Joe all agreed that as we walked out to the parking lot after class today that it was indeed sick! I bought it 2 years ago after going on the Scion.com website and "building" my scion from scratch. I wish I could post the video of my scion all built because after you have it built, you can rotate the car in any direction and see if from all angles. I think this was a great idea and very helpful when it came time for us to shop for a car. You don't have to deal with the salesman trying to talk you into an option that you're just not sure of. You can go to the website and see exactly what it will look like and in the color that you want! Talk about an innovative idea regarding use of media! P.S. I even got the blue interior lights!

I've got gas!

In 1979 I can remember waiting in a gas line in my Volkswagen Bug in Middleboro. As you approached the gas pump an attendant would stick his head in your window to make sure that your gas gauge read less than 1/4 of a tank. If it didn't, you couldn't get gas! While we don't have the same problem right now, the prices of gas are outrageous!

Blogs

To me, blogs are just another form of internet chat rooms. They're similar in a couple of ways:

1. Some of the people you're conversing with you only know through the internet and others you know personally.

2. You write something and someone responds to it.

3. You can plan on meeting them in person, but you don't really know who it is that will show up.

I've never really understood the attraction of chat rooms or blogs for that matter. I figure that if I want someone's opinion on something, I'll ask someone that I know and trust. I'll talk to friends, family, or my professor. So tell me, what attracts you to Blogs and chat rooms?
